ALBION, Mich. – Millikin University defeated Albion College, 3-1, in non-league women's soccer action at Alumni Field Saturday afternoon, but the Britons gave a spirited effort until the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of regulation time.

Dominique Sarnecky was at the post to put Taylor Shrader's corner kick in the net with less than two minutes remaining.

Albion finished the contest with a 15-8 edge in shots. The Britons placed 10 shots on goal. Victoria Montgomery led the Britons with three shots, and Sarnecky and Shrader each put two shots on goal.

Albion will complete the Labor Day weekend with a 12 p.m. Sunday match against the College of Mount Saint Joseph.
