Box Score ALBION, Mich. - Albion College and Kalamazoo College played an even match for a half, but the Hornets controlled possession in the second half to walk off Alumni Field with a 4-2 victory over the Britons.
Kalamazoo led, 2-1, at halftime, but the Hornets had only one more shot than the Britons. Kalamazoo outshot Albion, 9-1, in the second half to finish the contest with a 14-5 advantage in the statistic.
Lindsey Lubanski buried a penalty kick for Albion's first half score. The Britons were awarded a penalty kick after a Kalamazoo player pulled on the back of Taylor Shrader's jersey. Lubanski's goal, her third of the season, forged a 1-1 tie 12 minutes into the match.
Sam Voss scored twice for Kalamazoo in the first half. She got her head on a crossing passes in the fourth and 28th minutes. Madison McBarnes and Madeleine Chilcote produced the goals in the second half.
Caroline Eagan scored on Albion's only shot of the second half.
Albion will travel to Grand Rapids Saturday for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Assocation match against Calvin College.
