GRAND RAPIDS – It was a busy Friday night for Albion swimmers Austin Bateman, Derek Bosko, Brad Melpolder, and Brian Fiorillo. The men achieved first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay during the first session of the Calvin College Invitational. The Britons completed the race in 1:25.91 to gain a nearly two-second margin of victory.

Individually, Bosko and Melpolder finished second and third, respectively, in the 50-yard freestyle, while Bateman finished sixth in the 200-yard individual medley.

A.J. Mattson scored Albion's other second place finish, completing the 500-yard freestyle in 4:53.11.
