Men's Swimming and Diving

Impressive Start

HOLLAND, Mich. – Derek Bosko, Nick Deppner and Sebastian Tostado were part of two Albion College teams that captured first place as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association launched another swimming & diving season with a non-scored relay meet at the Holland Aquatic Center.

Deppner and Bosko swam the first two legs as Albion achieved a convincing win in the 500-yard freestyle. Josh Boren and Tostado completed the relay that achieved a five-second margin of victory. The winning time was 4:13.67.

The order was Bosko, Deppner, Parker Belmore and Tostado as the Britons rallied to take first place in the 200 freestyle. The Britons finished in 1:28.30, nine-hundredths of a second ahead of Calvin College.

Albion also achieved a second-place finish in the 1,500 freestyle. Blake Blair, Kyle Harvey and Sean Pearce completed the race in 15:37.04.

Belmore and Bosko also helped Albion finish third (with Landon Lefler and Garret Bosworth) in the 200 medley, and Tostado, Belmore, Bosworth and Boren finished third in the 400 medley.

Albion dives into dual meets next Saturday (Oct. 25) at Calvin.
