The Albion College women's soccer team impressed Saturday afternoon in a 9-0 win over Alverno College. The victory marks the first 2-0 start for the program since 2007, and the fourth straight win for the Britons dating back to last season.
Domenique Sarnecky, Caroline Eagan, Lauren Cross, Molly Hancock, Kayla Paquette, and Jenna Urso all contributed goals in what amounted to Albion's highest scoring game in seven years.
Head Coach Eric Scott was happy with his team's performance. "We're getting in the habit of scoring," said Scott. "We stayed healthy this weekend and played smart, quality soccer."
The Britons came out with energy and showed no signs of fatigue from Friday afternoon's 5-1 victory over North Park University.
"We've talked about building consistency in the program," Scott said. "Playing games on back-to-back days is a good way to test ourselves."
Albion dominated the game from the get-go, jumping out to a 6-0 lead by halftime. They ended the game with 18-2 edge in shots on goal.
Urso, a first-year student-athlete, notched her first goal as a Briton. Eagan picked right back up from where she left off Friday night with two goals of her own, putting her at five total on the season.
Albion heads to Chicago for a Friday night game against Illinois Tech. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. Eastern time.
