Box Score CHICAGO – Albion College has nearly produced as many goals in three matches as it did all of last season. The Britons continued their scoring tear Friday as Domenique Sarnecky scored three times in a 4-2 victory over Illinois Tech.
Albion, off to a 3-0 start, has scored 18 goals so far this season. The Britons finished the 2013 campaign with 21 goals.
Sam LaRocca got the scoring started. She produced the first goal of her collegiate career in the 12th minute. Sarnecky tacked on goals in the 15th and 35th minutes as Albion held a 3-1 lead at halftime.
Illinois Tech edged closer in the second half as Adrianna Maron scored as the Britons lead melted to 3-2 with 28 minutes left in the second half.
Sarnecky gave Albion an insurance goal in the 84th minute. She has produced a team-best six goals through three contests.
Albion goalkeeper Maggie Troost finished with five saves.
The Briton student-athletes will take time Saturday to enjoy Chicago before returning home for a 12 p.m. Sunday contest against Transylvania University at Alumni Field.
