Box Score ALBION, Mich. – Domenique Sarnecky placed a shot just under the crossbar in the 102nd minute to lift Albion College to a 3-2 victory over Transylvania University in a non-league women's soccer contest.
Sarnecky's strike – her seventh of the season – lifted Albion to its fourth win in as many tries this season. It is Albion's best start since the 2007 squad won its first five contests.
Albion never led until the game-winning goal in overtime. Sam LaRocca tied the score at 1-1 with a goal three minutes into the second half. Jenna Urso gave a great individual effort to beat a Transylvania defender and tie the score at 2-2 with 30 minutes remaining in regulation.
Albion pushed for the game-winner in the first 10-minute overtime period. Caroline Eagan hit a shot off the crossbar and another stopped by the Transylvania goalkeeper. Urso also had a shot stopped by the Transylvania goalkeeper.
Briton goalkeeper Maggie Troost was credited with five saves.
Despite the victory, Albion Coach Eric Scott warned "the season starts tomorrow" as his team travels to Holland, Mich., for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest against Hope College.
