HOLLAND, Mich. – Parker Belomore and Sebastian Tostado were members of the winning 200-yard medley relay team and they won individual events and Derek Bosko win the 100 and 200 freestyle events, but Albion did not have the depth to take down Hope in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's swimming & diving dual meet.

Hope secured the top three places in the diving events and it scored second- and third-place points in a number of events to claim a 183 ½-114 ½ victory over the Britons.

The Britons started the meet with a first place performance in the medley relay. Belmore, Lucas Harder, Tostado and Nick Deppner eked out a victory over Hope's 'A' team by four-hundredths of a second. Albion's winning time was 1:39.45.

Albion held its own in the 1,000 freestyle as Blake Blair and Kyle Harvey finished second and third. In an exciting race, Blair finished in 10:21.81, less than a second off the pace set by Hope's Duncan MacLean.

Hope's depth started to overwhelm Albion from that point. Bosko posted a winning time of 1:48.62 in the 200 free and Belmore set a winning time of 54.96 seconds in the 100 back, but Hope had swimmers finish second and third in both events.

Albion picked up second and third place points from Harder and Landon Lefler in the 100 breaststroke, Tostado was the runner-up in the 200 butterfly and Bosko tied for second in the 50 freestyle.

Bosko won the 100 free (48.61) and Tostado won the 200 back (2:01.85) after Hope produced the top three performers in 1-meter diving, but Hope produced second- and third-place points in bith swimming events.

Harder and Andrew Mattson were the second and third finishers in the 200 breaststroke. Harder completed the race in 2:14.10, nearly a half-second behind Hope's Jeff Zita.

Blair prevented Hope from sweeping the top three finishes in the 500 freestyle, finishing third in 5:04.18. Belmore was the runner-up in the 100 butterfly, finishing three-tenths of a second behind Hope's Nathan Rommel.

Tostado picked up an easy win in the 200 IM. His time of 2:01.33 was 2.5 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Albion returns to competition tomorrow when it squares off against the College of Wooster for a non-league dual meet.
