GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Sebastian Tostado, Nate Kozycki, Lucas Harder and Gerardo Huidobro won the 400 medley relay and Albion College was the runner-up in four events in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Relays.
Albion cruised to first place in the medley relay with a time of 3:39.85, nearly 5 ½ seconds ahead of the second-place team from Calvin.
Tostado and Kozycki were part of three of the runner-up swims. They joined Huidobro and Anderson in the 200 medley relay (1:36.71) and Lucas Harder and Nick Deppner in the butterfly events (42.44 seconds in the 100 and 1:35.83 in the 200).
The other runner-up finish came in the 200 backstroke relay where Tom Parsons, Deppner, Nick Burris and Nick Smith achieved a time of 1:44.01.
The team standings showed Albion in a tie with Kalamazoo College and Hope College with 52 points.
Albion will swim at home for the first time this season Oct. 31 when Alma College provides the opposition for a MIAA dual meet. The first event starts at 11 a.m. inside the Dean Aquatic Center.
