GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Olivia Conover scored Albion College's point in an 8-1 loss to Aquinas College Friday night.

Playing No. 4 singles, Conover defeated her opponent in straight sets. The first-year athlete from Flushing, Mich., is 2-0 in singles with both victories in straight sets.

The final score was deceiving because Albion gave Aquinas all it could handle at No.1 doubles and No. 3 singles. Irene Chen and Margaux Kabodian lost the doubles match in a tie-brekaer, and Lauren Rasmussen extended her opponent to three sets.

Albion (1-1 overall) returns home for a Wednesday match against Spring Arbor University inside the Ungrodt Tennis Center.
