ALBION, Mich. – Jessica Scott was the deciding match, winning a three-set marathon at No. 6 singles, as Albion College earned 5-4 victory over Olivet College.
It was the Britons first victory over a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival this season.
Scott owned the third set, 6-1, after splitting the first two sets with Isabel Snyder.
Irene Chen, Margaux Kabodian and Lauren Rasmussen won the top three singles matches in straight sets for Albion. Chen and Kabodian earned Albion's point in doubles with an 8-1 win at the top of the lineup.
Albion will play its next two matches on the road, starting with a Tuesday date at Hope College.
