ALBION, Mich. – Albion College surrendered the game winning score with less than two minutes left in regulation for the second time this season in a 28-21 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Adrian College at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.

Backup quarterback Hunter Hamm found Joey Koscielski in the back corner of the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown with 1:36 left for the winning score.

Down 21-7 at halftime, Albion rallied to tie the score as Chad Hamilton threw a pair of touchdown passes to tight end Brian Blanzy. The tying score – set up by Josh Padelt's interception return to the Adrian 5 yard line – came with 5:40 left in regulation.

Adrian counted Albion's tying score with an 11-play drive that covered 63 yards. The Bulldogs moved into scoring position when Hamm hooked up with Jerron McGaw for a 27-yard gain to the Albion 22. Hamm later found McGaw for a 6-yard gain on a third down play.

Albion finished with 392 yards. Hamilton completed 20 passes for 242 yards. Sean Koski set career highs with seven receptions for 117 yards. Koski hauled in a 7-yard touchdown pass that tied the score, 7-7, in the first quarter.

Zach Serzo averaged a shade more than seven yards per carry, finishing with 87 yards on 12 carries.

Cornerback Anthony Waite led the defense with 11 ½ tackles. Austin Lynn and Jesse Wilson wrapped up sacks. Rayshawn Robinson also collected his first career interception.

Adrian featured a balanced offense with running back David Nutter gaining 135 yards and quarterbacks Gage Smith and Hamm passing for 202 yards.

Albion continues league play next Saturday with a 1 o'clock game at Trine University.
