Box Score ALBION, Mich. – Led by strong play by Kayla Paquette in the midfield and Mikenna Ray, Amanda Allen, Sarah Castellano, Alyssa Brooks and goalkeeper Maggie Troost in the back, Albion College upset Hope College, 1-0, on the new Alumni Field inside the Davis Athletic Complex.
Hope entered the game in second place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, and the Flying Dutch controlled much of the action. However, the Britons limited the dangerous chances. Elizabeth Perkins, who has tallied 17 goals for the Flying Dutch this season, was held to just one shot on goal.
Riley Burnette, a first-year forward from Livonia, Mich., scored her third goal of the week and fifth of the season when she finished Allen's quick free midway through the second half.
Burnette's score was just one of three shots on goal for the Britons. Allen and Alex Radzville had the others.
Troost gained her third shutout of the season.
Albion (6-6-2 overall and 5-6-1 against MIAA rivals) travels to Trine University for a Tuesday match.
