Gutsy Effort Comes Up Short

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Albion College gave a gritty effort despite being fighting through some injuries, but the Britons still walked off the courts with a 9-0 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Saint Mary's College.

Olivia Conover gave Albion its best opportunity at a point. She split 7-5 sets with Sam Setterblad at No. 3 singles, but Conover came up short (10-2) in the tiebreaker to decide the match.

Heather Vogt lost the first set, 6-4, at No. 1 singles, but that was as close as another Briton came to taking a set. Vogt and Lauren Rasmussen dropped the No. 1 doubles match, 8-6.

Albion's next match is a Thursday date at Alma College.
