Box Score ALMA, Mich. – Despite a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal, the Albion College women's soccer team absorbed a 2-1 loss double overtime at Alma College.
Albion ends the season at 8-8-2 overall and 7-7-2 against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals.
Samantha LaRocca scored Albion's goal. She finished a pass from Alex Radzville for her sixth goal of the season midway through the first half.
Janelle Christensen scored the equalizer in the 67th minute.
Albion pressed for the game-winner in overtime. Jenna Urso had a shot blocked and another stopped by Alma goalkeeper Kelsey Postema in the first 10-minute overtime period. Postema came up with another save in the second overtime, stopping a shot by Molly Hancock.
Ashley Bonam scored the game-winner for Alma 31 seconds after Hancock's shot.
LaRocca generated four shots on goal for Albion. Hancock and Riley Burnette each had two.
