CHICAGO, Ill. – Jake Huttenlocher just kept swimming Saturday night.
The first-year Albion College swimmer from Shelby Township, Mich., dove in the pool for three events. He helped the Britons finish fifth in the 200-yard medley relay and finished seventh in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.
Huttenlocher achieved a 26.29 split in the breaststroke in the relay. Ian Moran completed his 50 backstroke in 24.80, Nate Kozyicki achieved a 21.67 split in the butterfly and Len Ciemniecki sprinted his 50 freestyle in 21.13 as the Britons finished the race in 1:33.89, 3 ½ seconds below the seeding.
Not to be outdone, Mac Robertson was fourth in the 500 freestyle (4:43.26), Parker Belmore was fourth in the 200 backstroke (1:54.01) and Kozycki was fifth in the 100 freestyle (47.29).
Huttenlocher, Kozycki, Robertson and Belmore also worked together for a third place finish in the 800 freestyle relay. The Britons completed the race in 7:01.44.
It was a good day for the divers, too, as three Britons finished in the top five in the 3-meter competition. All-American Jake Burris was the runner-up with a 453.55 total. Tai Sims and Jake Maurer were fourth and fifth, respectively.
