YPSILANTI, Mich. – Albion College first-year swimmers Jake Huttenlocher and Seth Fleming achieved drops in time in the 500-yard freestyle during the Eastern Michigan University Invitational on Saturday.

Huttenlocher completed his race in 4:47.21, a 1.3-second improvement over his entry time. Fleming achieved a six-second drop, finishing in 5:01.18.

Huttenlocher also dropped time in the 400 individual medley, completing the race in 4:11.63.

Sophomore Mac Robertson turned in Albion's best time in the 500 at 4:46.85. In the morning session, he dropped a couple of seconds when he completed the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.21.

Albion also received a solid performance by sophomore Len Ciemniecki in the 50 freestyle. He sprinted to a time of 21.94. Nate Kozycki (22.06) and Evan Wonner (22.28) also competed for the Britons.

The EMU Invitational brings the first half of the Albion swimming season to a close. The Britons will have home dual meets against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals Calvin College and Kalamazoo College in January.
