ALBION, Mich. - Lauren Rasmussen won the No. 1 singles match in straight sets for Albion College's point in an 8-1 loss to local rival Spring Arbor University on Tuesday.

Rasmussen improved to 3-1 in singles during the month of February with the 6-0, 6-2 victory over Mary-Kate McShane.

Albion played competitive matches at No. 2 and No. 5 singles. Lauren Solano, playing No. 2, lost in three sets, and Marceline Redick, playing No. 5, lost a tiebreaker after splitting sets with her rival.

Albion is off until spring break. The Britons have a March 5 match against Heidelberg (Ohio) University in Hilton Head, S.C.
