Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated Against MIAA Rivals

ANGOLA, Ind. – Albion College defeated Trine University, 7-2, in women's tennis Sunday afternoon to improve to 4-0 against its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals.

The Britons earned an important point in doubles when Olivia Conover and Lauren Solano, the No. 2 team, eked out a 9-8 win over Tarah Brennan and Kirstin Riise.

Albion led 2-1 after doubles as Chrissy Gauss and Lauren Rasmussen scored an 8-4 win at the top of the lineup.

Rasmussen fought off a tiebreaker loss in the second set of the No. 1 singles match to put the point in the Britons column with a 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (10-7) win.

Solano, Conover, Gauss and Marceline Redick won their singles matches in straight sets.

Albion, 7-7 overall, hosts Calvin for a 3 o'clock match on Wednesday.
