Box Score OLIVET, Mich. – Maggie Shrader's first collegiate goal could not have come at a better time.
Shrader, a junior defender, scored in the seventh minute to lift Albion College to a 1-1 draw with Olivet College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's soccer action.
Albion, 3-1-1 in MIAA matches, gained a point on the ledger and it sits in fourth place. The Britons trail third place Hope College (3-0-2) by a point. Albion and Hope will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Alumni Field.
Olivet controlled the action early. Albion goalkeeper Haley Demers made the save on a shot by Kiley Schneck. Schneck took a corner kick that led to a shot by Grace White that clanked off the crossbar. Lauren Maybee pounced on the rebound to send Olivet to the lead three minutes into the match.
Albion generated 18 shots in the match, placing 10 of those on goal. Clare Kelley was the most dangerous player on the field for Albion, finishing with five shots on goal.

.Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
