GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- In day two of the MIAA Championships, the Albion College men's swimming and diving team took third place. The day was highlighted by a win in the 100 yard breaststroke by Jake Huttenlocher, who broke the longest standing MIAA record in the prelims.
Below is a listing of top eight finishes on the day.
Just behind Huttenlocher in the 100 yard breaststroke was Declan Tharp, who finished in second with a time of 56.23.
Cole Nelson's time of 51.23 earned him a third place finish in the 100 yard backstroke. Senior Kurt Jolly took sixth in the event with a time of 51.93.
In the 400 IM, junior Drew Fogel took fourth with a time of 4:09.96. Noah Mitchell placed eighth in the event. Mitchell added a sixth place finish in the 1650 free, with Russell Brown coming in eighth in the event.
With a time of 1:43.85, AJ Zako placed sixth in the 200 yard free.
Nate Cobb finished sixth in the 200 yard fly (1:54.66) while Fogel took seventh (1:54.93).
The 400 yard freestyle relay squad of Jolly, Tharp, Cobb and Huttenlocher took second with a time of 3:05.00.
Justin Huttenlocher placed fifth in the 3m dive.
