ALBION -- On Saturday, the Albion College women's tennis team earned their first win of the season, picking up a 5-4 victory over Olivet College. Freshman Savannah McDonald and sophomore Breh Ruger both picked up two wins for the Brits.
After falling a tight 8-6 first doubles match, Ruger and McDonald took their match at second doubles, 8-4. Albion was up 2-1 after doubles thanks to an 8-4 win at third doubles by Namara Swillum and Grace Lorenzoni.
Ruger won the match at second singles, 6-0, 6-1 along with McDonald taking a 6-2, 6-0 match at fourth singles. With the teams tied at four, freshman Alura Reed secured the victory for the Brits, winning at sixth singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Albion is back in action on their home court on Sunday, Mar. 14 when they host St. Mary's. The match will begin at 10 a.m.
