HOW IT HAPPENED
Off to a slow start, things looked bleak for Albion early on. Aided by a Defiance penalty on fourth down, the Brits made the hosts pay on the next play. With 3:36 left in the first quarter, the commonly used Bush to Thomas connection was utilized for a 47-yard TD.
Jackson Cooney's PAT was good, giving the Brits a 7-0 lead.Â
On the next Albion possession, the Britons tacked on an impressive 51-yard field goal off the foot of Cooney, extending the lead to 10-0. Albion later added two more points on a safety with 10 minutes to go before halftime.Â
With a 12-0 lead, it took Albion just two plays to boost the advantage to 19-0. Bush found
Andy Durand for a 51-yard touchdown that was followed up by a PAT from Cooney. Albion added three more points on the ensuing possession, courtesy of another Cooney field goal. The 22-0 lead would hold at the half.Â
It took just 57 seconds on Albion's first drive of the new half to score again. Bush found
Brendan Teal from 11 yards out for a 29-0 lead. On the ensuing Albion possession, Jones-Price used a 98-yard run to inflate the lead to 35-0.Â
Later in the third,
Kyle Thomas found
Mark Tocco for an impressive grab in the end zone, pushing the lead to 42-0.
In the fourth, a third Cooney field goal followed by a
James Bloomfield touchdown secured the road victory.Â
The Britons will play their much-anticipated first home game of the season next Saturday when they host Hanover -- who pulled off a last-minute win over Adrian today. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
