ANGOLA, Ind. – It was a tough day on the hardwood for the Albion College men's basketball team, falling 80-37 to Trine University.
From the start, the story was all Trine, cruising to an early lead and never looking back. After the opening tip, the Britons never controlled the lead or were able to tie the game. The Thunder held a commanding 37-15 lead at halftime.
Fred Garland led Albion with nine points while bringing down six rebounds.
Devin Holmes had another impressive day on the glass, securing 11 rebounds.
In his first game back from injury, freshman
Jack Kennedy collected eight rebounds.
Trine scored 31 points off 26 Albion turnovers. Struggling offensively, the Britons shot just 26.7 percent from the floor.
Albion (5-8, 1-1) hosts Kalamazoo on Wednesday. Tip off against the Hornets is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
