Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Four score in men's soccer's first MIAA win

Jonathan Euceda, Brayden Stavros, Brett Swaton and Daniel Acosta all netted goals.

ALBION – In less than ideal playing conditions, the Albion College men's soccer team picked up a more than favorable outcome – a 4-0 win over Adrian College. With heavy rain through 90 minutes, the Britons kept pressure on the visitors to earn their first conference win of the season.

Brett Swaton kicked off the scoring for the Britons with a goal in the 18th minute. Sophomore Brayden Stavros netted his second goal of the season to double the Albion lead heading into halftime. Awarded a free kick on a foul just outside the box, Alex Carre-Font slotted a beautiful ball to Stavros, who one-touched it past the Adrian keeper.

Holding onto a 2-0 lead, Jonathan Euceda added to his remarkable freshman campaign. Senior captain Carter Peek controlled a ball and found Euceda deep at the other end. The speedy freshman capitalized on a breakaway, putting the Brits up 3-0 in the 63rd minute.

John Mullen played a beautiful ball to Daniel Acosta for the final Albion goal of the evening.

Albion outshot the Bulldogs by a 19-13 margin.

Anton Favre and Jan Carlos Hanaman combined to record five saves in goal and earn the shutout.

The Britons move to 6-5-2 overall, 1-1-1 in the MIAA.

On Saturday, Albion heads to Trine for a noon kickoff.
