Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Natschke's late goal helps WSOC win at Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. – Despite her sister being on the sidelines, Quinn Natschke and Romee Natschke were still able to share a moment they'll never forget.

In the 78th minute, Quinn scored the game-winning goal – a beautiful one – to propel the Albion College women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Hope College. It is the first time the Britons have defeated Hope since 2019 and the first in Holland since 2007.

Albion has won four straight and has moved to 7-2-3 overall, 4-1-0 in the MIAA.

Megan Loney netted her sixth goal of the season to put the Britons on the board in the first half. Loney won the race on a ball played ahead between her and the keeper, finding the lower right corner. The 1-0 lead would hold until halftime.

Hope found the equalizer in the 71st minute. After a free kick was awarded to the hosts, a scuffle in the box eventually went in favor of Hope, knotting the game at one apiece.

With a corner kick late in the match, Loney and Natschke set up the eventual game-winner. Loney played a perfect ball to the back post. Without letting the ball hit the turf, Natschke one touched the pass with her right foot into the back of the net.

The Flying Dutch held an advantage in corners (11-2) and shots (21-9).

Becca Ross (4-0) made six saves in net.

On Tuesday, the Britons welcome Adrian for another MIAA matchup. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
