Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer battles to draw on Senior Night

ALBION – On Senior Night, the Albion College women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Trine University. With playoff implications on the line, Albion now moves to 7-3-4 overall, 4-2-1 in the MIAA. Trine moves to 4-1-2 in the league, with one game remaining on the docket for everyone.

In the 26th minute, Rayna Edwards and Megan Loney both made hustle plays at the Trine end of the field to win the ball back from the Thunder defense. Edwards won a tackle and on her birthday, shot a gorgeous goal into the far right corner from outside the box, lifting the hosts ahead to a 1-0 advantage.

Coming out of the half trailing, the Thunder netted the equalizer in the 71st minute. A corner followed by a header made its way into the back of the net, finally putting the Thunder on the board. Trine had two good looks in the first half, but was turned away by the Briton back line and Becca Ross

Ross (4-1-1) totaled three saves. Trine held a significant edge in corners, 10-4.

On Wednesday, Albion wraps up the regular season at No. 11 Calvin. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
