Men's soccer locks up No. 4 seed for MIAA Tournament

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A heroic goal from Carter Peek helped the Albion College men's soccer team earn a tie with Kalamazoo College, 1-1. With the draw, the Brits lock the No. 4 seed for the MIAA Tournament and will host on Saturday.

The Hornets struck first, scoring in the 33rd minute. A ball found its way across the box before a shot from the hosts put them on the board. Kalamazoo took the 1-0 lead into the half.

In the 51st minute, the Britons were awarded a free kick from far out. The senior captain struck for a gorgeous goal that was perfectly placed, reviving life back into Albion and knotting the game at one goal apiece.

Each team had chances for the go-ahead goal in the second half, but neither could connect.

Sophomore goalkeeper Anton Favre made four saves. Albion ends the regular season with an 8-6-3 record, 3-2-2 in the MIAA.

Albion turns around and hosts the Hornets on Saturday. A kickoff time is still TBD, but will be solidified late Wednesday night.
