Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

WINston. Senior nets career-best 21 in win

ANGOLA, Ind. – A monstrous career night from Khy Winston lifted the Albion College men's basketball team to a 68-60 victory over Lawrence University. The senior scored 21 points on an 8 for 10 shooting night, adding seven rebounds in the win. 

In addition to Winston's career night, the Britons received 17 points from Jonathan Armstead-Wilkerson. Fred Garland added 11 points while passing out five assists for Albion. 

In a very low-scoring first half, the Brits led by three with 2:12 before the break. Baskets by Armstead-Wilkerson and Winston helped pad the Albion lead, inflating the advantage back to seven. At the break, the Britons held a 31-23 advantage. 

Throughout the second half, Lawrence worked to keep the distance at single digits, but Albion kept having a response ready. After Lawrence cut the lead to four late in the game, Garland and Thomas provided the Britons with much-needed buckets to build the lead back and keep it a three possession game. 

The Britons scored 22 points off Lawrence turnovers. At the other end, Lawrence could only muster 10 points off Albion turnovers. 

All seven of Winston's rebounds came on the defensive end, limiting additional possessions for LU. 

Albion will be idle until Dec. 29 when they play The College of Wooster. Tip off in Ohio is scheduled for 5 p.m.
