Sheklow's six points leads WLAX over Hanover

ALBION – Backed by a five goal performance from Abby Sheklow, the Albion College women's lacrosse team won their second straight contest with a 17-6 victory over Hanover College. In the win, Chrystelle Lopez became Albion's all-time leader in points, scoring two goals and dishing out two assists. 

Starting out strong, Sheklow, Aaliyah Eudabe and Destiny Okon put the Brits up early. After another Sheklow goal, the Panthers scored their first goal of the afternoon. Albion answered with three goals to end the period – all coming from Sheklow – to give the hosts a 7-1 lead after the first quarter. 

Sophomore Keiley Black netted her second goal of the season to open the second quarter, Addie Pastor scored all three of her goals of the day in the period, as the Brits tacked on seven straight. In the final seconds of the half, Hanover scored, but Albion still held a decisive 14-2 lead at the half. 

Albion's final three goals all came in the third quarter, courtesy of Okon, Eudabe and Lopez. 

Pastor (3G, 3A) and Sheklow (5G, 1A) finished with a team-high six points. Lopez caused a team-best four turnovers. 

The Brits were near-perfect on the clear, completing 14 of 15 attempts. Albion outshot the Panthers in the win, 35-13.

Alexis Robinson (2-1) tallied three saves in the win.

Albion will be idle until their California trip over spring break. The first game will be on Mar. 6 at Whittier College.
