Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's lacrosse scores 19 on the road

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – On the road in Illinois, the Albion College women's lacrosse team dominated North Central College, 19-6, on Wednesday evening. Five different Brits scored in the win, improving the squad to 6-2 overall.

Offensively, Albion was led by Chrystelle Lopez, the reigning MIAA Athlete of the Week. The senior scored five goals and added four assists.

Midway through the first half, NCC scored first, but their lead held for less than a minute before Lopez knotted the game. 40 seconds later, Lopez found Aaliyah Eudabe for a strike, putting the Britons ahead for good. Lopez, Addie Pastor and Destiny Okon all scored in the opening quarter, giving Albion a 5-2 lead after one.

North Central cut Albion's lead to one midway through the second. Holding a 5-4 lead, the Britons scored five unanswered to close out the first half and hold a 10-4 edge at the break.

Scoring the first four goals out of the half, the Brits put themselves over the 10 goal threshold to keep the clock running against the Cardinals. A North Central goal was quickly answered with Abby Sheklow's third goal of the night, putting the Brits back up 15-5.

Pastor and Okon netted hat tricks for the Brits, as Sheklow and Eudabe tallied four-goal evenings. Okon also picked up a game-high 10 ground balls.

Pastor and Okon combined for 17 draw controls. Albion led the category, 21-8.

Alexis Robinson made eight saves in the win.

Albion will be idle this weekend to prepare for a game on Monday at Siena Heights. The road game will begin at 7 p.m.
