WLAX stays hot despite cold temps

Adrian, Mich. – Another solid performance from the Albion College women's lacrosse team helped the Britons collect their third straight win, defeating Siena Heights University, 16-7. Albion improves to 7-2 overall with one game to go before conference play begins. 

Chrystelle Lopez led all scorers with five goals and four assists.The senior went 4 for 5 on free position attempts. Both Abby Sheklow and Destiny Okon finished the night with four points apiece. 

Sheklow's early strike put the Brits on the board first. Midway through the first quarter, junior captain Addie Pastor's goal gave Albion a 2-0 lead. Less than a minute later, the visitors got a goal from Lopez for a three goal advantage. After a SHU goal, scores from Okon and Lopez saw the Britons holding a 5-1 lead after one. 

Each team netted a pair in the second quarter with Albion's coming from Okon and Sheklow. The Britons held a 7-3 lead at the half. 

Quick goals from Okon and Lopez out of the half pushed Albion up to a 9-3 lead. After the Saints scored, Sheklow and Okon quickly responded to swing the momentum back in favor of the Britons. Another Lopez goal gave the Brits a 12-5 lead after three periods. 

All three of Aaliyah Eudabe's goals came in the fourth quarter to help secure the victory for the Brits. 

Alexis Robinson tallied nine saves in goal.

Just nine games in, the Britons have five players with 25 or more goals – Sheklow (25), Pastor (25), Eudabe (27), Okon (28) and Lopez (33).

Albion will have another week until their next game – a matchup at Cleary University. The Apr. 4 contest will begin at 6 p.m.
