Catholic defeats women's tennis in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, SC – On Sunday, the Albion College women's tennis team opened their spring break trip with a 6-3 loss to Catholic University. The Britons held a 2-1 advantage after doubles and put together a number of tight singles matches. 

At second doubles, the senior-freshman duo of Saige Jost and Josie Dunn won by a score of 8-3. Ellie Debo and Savannah McDonald helped Albion lead after doubles, winning their third doubles match, 8-2. 

At fourth singles, Dunn narrowly fell in a tiebreaker (6-4, 2-6, 10-8). Sophomore Alura Reed earned the lone singles win for Albion, defeating her opponent, 6-3, 6-1. McDonald lost an extremely tight and competitive tiebreaker at six singles (6-4, 2-6, 10-8). 

The Britons will be back on the courts bright and early Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. match against Cairn University.
