Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Complete team efforts lifts WLAX past Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – A tremendous performance in goal from Alexis Robinson secured the Albion College women's lacrosse team's fifth straight win. Albion defeated Adrian College, 16-5, behind the stellar performance of Robinson to improve to 2-0 in the MIAA.

Junior captain Addie Pastor led all scorers with six goals and one assist. Also recording seven points was Chrystelle Lopez, who scored five times while adding a pair of assists.

The Brits scored the first six goals of the contest to establish an offensive presence early on. Senior Abby Sheklow ignited the scoring with an early goal. Pastor netted a hat trick in the first quarter and Lopez added two, giving the Brits a 6-1 lead after one.

In the second, the visitors maintained control of the tempo scoring the next six goals of the game. All six goals in the second quarter came from Pastor and Lopez, as Albion hit the 10-goal threshold and took a 12-2 lead into halftime.

In the third, Lopez connected on a free position attempt and Sheklow scored again off a feed from Amelia Stevenson. The Bulldogs scored twice later, but Albion retained a steady 10 goal lead after three.

The final two Albion goals came courtesy of Sheklow and Aaliyah Eudabe. Eudabe, a freshman, also caused three turnovers in the win.

Robinson made 10 saves for Albion, securing both her and the team's ninth win of the season. She was spectacular in forcing off-target shots, aided by a great defensive performance from Angelina Mendieta, Audrey DeWaters, Kyndall Lewis and Julia Ames

The Britons will have a tough test on Tuesday when they host Hope College. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
