Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

WLAX win streak snapped at eight

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – An eight game win streak came to a halt on Wednesday, as the Albion College women's lacrosse team came up short at Calvin University, 15-10. Despite trailing by just one at halftime, the Knights prevailed in the third quarter.

Chrystelle Lopez scored six goals and dished out one assist, leading Albion with seven points on the afternoon. The Knights were able to limit the damage of Albion's offense, as no other player had a multi-goal game.

Trailing 5-1 early in the second, Albion netted four straight goals – three by Lopez – to tie the game at five. In that stretch, freshman Aaliyah Eudabe scored as well for the Britons. A late goal by the hosts saw Calvin take a 6-5 lead at halftime.

Up by two, Calvin closed out the third period on a 5-1 run, leading 13-7 after three and holding all of the momentum in the game.

Alexis Robinson made 13 saves for Albion.

The Britons are still in a position to claim the MIAA Regular Season Championship and earn the No. 1 seed heading into next week's tournament. On Saturday, Albion will host Trine for Senior Day and a 5 p.m. game. It is a must-win situation for the Brits.
