Baseball celebrates seniors on Saturday

ALBION – On Senior Day, the Albion College baseball team settled for a tough split at the hands of Trine University. Albion won an 8-4 opener before dropping a 3-1 heartbreaker in game two in extras. 

Between games, Albion honored its two seniors – Sean Haddlesey and Justin Charron. 

In game one, the Britons jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Haddlesey led off the game with a triple to dead center, and came around to score on a single from Zac Gray. 

Chris Marshall had three hits, leading Albion offensively. 

Pete Loch (3-4) got the win, tossing 5.1 innings. 

Despite 9.1 masterful inningf from Brayden Raether, Trine took a 3-1 win in the second game. The Thunder prevailed in extra innings, stealing the game from the Brits. 

The rubber match will be Sunday in Indiana, with a 1 p.m. first pitch.
