Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Late goal sinks men's soccer

WAUKESHA, Wis. – A goal in the 90th minute broke the hearts of the Albion College men's soccer team, falling 3-2 to Carroll University on Sunday afternoon. Moments before, Grady Lycan netted the equalizer, tying the game at two with four minutes to play. 

The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute. Albion would eventually tie the match before halftime. On a corner, Brett Swaton played a beautiful ball in the box. Sophomore Riley Folk one-touched the shot past the Carroll keeper, evening the game at one apiece. 

In the 70th minute, the Pioneers regained the lead after cashing in on a penalty kick opportunity. 

Lycan's heroics were set up in the 87th minute, as the junior netted his third goal of the season – an unassisted strike. 

Carroll sealed the win with exactly one minute to play, scoring the game-winner to pick up their second win of the season. 

An extremely chippy contest, the teams combined for 36 fouls. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Carson Foor made three saves.

Albion's record now stands at 1-3-1.

On Wednesday, the Brits will be back on their home pitch when they host Moody Bible. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
