Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer nets five, blanks Edgewood

Four Britons scored in the 5-0 home opener win.

ALBION – From the get-go, the story was all Albion, as the men's soccer team cruised its way to a 5-0 win over Edgewood College. In their new kits on their home turf, the Britons gave their fans plenty to cheer about.

Just five minutes into the contest, sophomore Riley Folk netted the first goal of the afternoon off a pass from Stefan Isaevski. Later in the half, Albion struck again – this time from Grady Lycan. The junior nailed home a shot off a pass from Nick Miller, giving the hosts 2-0 edge at the break.

Ten minutes into the new period, freshman Jonathan Euceda tacked on the third goal of the afternoon, assisted by Alex Carre-Fonte.

The final two Albion goals came courtesy of Roberto Villareal. Euceda and Nigel Onwere tallied assists on those scores for the Britons.

Sophomore Carson Foor (1-0) earned the win in goal, making just one save in the match.

All five goals were assisted. Albion outshot the Eagles, 27-5.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Britons, as they travel to Benedictine tomorrow. Kickoff against the Eagles is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST.
