Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lycan's two goal night lifts men's soccer

ADRIAN, Mich. – With a 4-0 victory on Wednesday night, the Albion College men's soccer team remains unbeaten in MIAA play, knocking off Adrian College. Senior striker Grady Lycan netted a pair of goals lifting the Brits to the road win.

Lycan got Albion on the board in the 16th minute, courtesy of his third goal of the season. After finishing to the lower corner, Lycan ran to the sideline and backflipped for a 1-0 Briton lead. The score would hold throughout the first half, as the visitors were clinging to a one goal lead. Lycan's goal came from Brett Swaton, marking Swaton's 17th point of the year.

Albion's second goal came off the left foot of Jasek Zielaskowski in the 66th minute. The freshman dribbled his way through the Bulldog defense, connecting on an off-balance shot past the Adrian keeper for a 2-0 advantage.

In the 80th minute, the Bulldog keeper came out a little too far and was unable to recover. A great hustle play by Karl Hunt was followed up by a pass to Alex Carre-Font. Carre-Font played a smart extra pass to Lycan, burying his second goal of the game and fourth of the year.

Awarded a free kick just outside the box in the 83rd minute, Carre-Font added a goal to his stat line – now with three goals and four assists this season.

Dario Vujic picked up his third career clean sheet, making four saves in the win. Albion held a significant edge in shots (22-12) and corners (8-2).

The Britons move to 7-3-1 overall, 2-0-1 in the MIAA.

Albion returns to its home pitch on Saturday for the back half of a men's-women's doubleheader. Kickoff against Trine is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
