Thomas' 29 not enough at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. – Despite having no answer for Ken Thomas, the Albion College men's basketball team fell to Olivet College, 81-79. A second half lead evaporated as the hosts buried big shots down the stretch. 

Thomas scored a game-high 29 points and brought down 10 rebounds. Both Jonathan Armstead-Wilkerson and AJ Barden added 12 points, as Khy Winston was the other Briton in double figures with 10. 

A back and forth battle lasted for the entirety of the game, as the Brits took a slim 36-32 lead into the locker room. 

Out of the half, Olivet used the momentum from a vivacious home crowd to chip away at the Albion advantage. The Comets used the long ball to get back in the game, sinking 37 percent of their 3-point attempts.

A costly turnover late by Albion gave the ball right back to Olivet. The Britons got a look at the end, but couldn't corral the offensive rebound and get a second chance look.

Albion shot 61 percent from the foul line, compared to Olivet's efficient 82 percent mark. 

On Saturday, the Brits will wrap up the regular season with a 5:30 p.m. contest against Calvin. It will also serve as Senior Day for Thomas, Winston and Armstead-Wilkerson.
