Women's tennis cruises to shutout of Olivet

ALBION – In a non-conference matchup, the Albion College women's tennis team dominated Olivet College, winning by a 9-1 margin. Just one of the matches went into a tiebreaker, as most of Albion's lineup won by large amounts. 

At first doubles, the freshman-senior duo of Rosy Zuun and Jesse Hepner earned an 8-1 win. Savannah McDonald and Josie Dunn followed it up with an 8-1 win at second doubles. Wrapping up doubles play, Jaymee Herrington and Liliana Robinson won with a score of 8-0.

Zuun started off singles play with a gritty tiebreaker victory. The freshman won 7-5 before dropping the next set, rebounding with a 10-7 win. 

At second singles, Dunn – the Reigning MIAA Athlete of the Week – won 6-1, 6-1. Hepner shut out her opponent at third singles, taking the match 6-0, 6-0. Alura Reed's score of 6-0, 6-1 earned her a win at fourth singles. 

Rounding out singles action, McDonald and Robinson handily won their matches 6-0, 6-0 at fifth and sixth doubles. 

On Tuesday, the Britons host Spring Arbor for their last tune up before spring break. The match begins at 4 p.m.
