Pastor sets two records in rout of Hanover

Addie Pastor set the single game record for goals (13) and points (16).

HANOVER, Ind. – Now that's the way you start a new season.

Led by a record breaking day from Addie Pastor, the Albion College women's lacrosse team made quick work of Hanover College, 23-3 on Saturday. Pastor set new Albion records in points in a single game and goals in a single game.

Pastor, a senior, scored 13 goals, breaking Chrystelle's record of 11 back in 2020. Additionally, the captain finished the day with 16 points, breaking a record of 12 set by Cait Gaitley back in 2018.

From the start, the Britons were in total control, scoring five of the first six goals. Sophomore Amelia Stevenson started the season with a goal, followed by Pastor's first of 13. After a Hanover goal, the Britons received goals from Pastor, Kyndall Lewis and Aaliyah Eudabe to build a 5-1 lead.

Following a second goal by the Panthers, Albion ended the first quarter on a 4-0 run, thanks to another score by Stevenson and a trio of goals by Pastor. After one, the Britons held a 9-2 edge.

The visitors outscored the hosts 6-0 in the second quarter, as Pastor tallied three more in the period. Sophomores Eudabe and Kellie Flynn tacked on goals, as well as Ellen Chown's first collegiate goal.

Out of the half, the Brits used a 7-0 period in the third to keep the clock running. Albion was able to stay ahead early and often and command the game in their 2023 debut.

Albion outshot Hanover 35-11 in the match. The Britons were also near perfect on the clear, converting 10 of 11 opportunities.

Logan Hutchinson and Hayla-Lyn Gilly also recorded their first collegiate points Saturday, dishing out an assist each.

Pastor's 13 goals came on just 14 shots. The senior also picked up eight ground balls in the win.

Eudabe finished with a career-high five assists for the Britons. She and Lewis picked up four ground balls each.

Freshman goalie Nicole Miller (1-0) earned her first career victory, making three saves in the win.

On Feb. 25, the Brits will play their home opener when they welcome Madonna University. First draw is scheduled for 1 p.m.
