Miller records three hits, SB swept in SC

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – It was a tough day on the diamond for the Albion College softball team, dropping two contests. In the first, the Britons fell in a tight 2-0 contest before a 9-1 run rule in the second game. 

Playing against Shawnee State, the Britons allowed a run in the third and the fourth – both unearned. Those two runs proved to be the difference in the game, as the Albion bats were unable to string anything together. 

As a team, Albion recorded just three hits – two coming from Chloe Miller. 

Ashley Pion (1-2) allowed just two hits in the loss while striking out four while walking none. Defensively, Albion made five errors. 

In the second game, the story was all Mary Washington. The UMW squad held a 7-0 lead after just two innings. Albion's lone run came in the top of the third when Miller drove in Jacqueline Jozefczyk. Miller had one of Albion's two hits in the game.

The Britons will have a day off on Wednesday before a doubleheader with Shawnee State on Thursday. All games are live streamed and available at gobrits.com.
