Blue Jays knock off MLAX

ALBION, Mich. – A defensive let down in the second half cost the Albion College men's lacrosse team in a 20-17 loss to Elmhurst. Albion allowed the Blue Jays to convert on 80 percent of their EMOs and win 26 faceoffs. 

Senior captain Sam Puzevic turned in another seven point performance, scoring three goals and contributing four assists. Fifth year attacker Jace Conley scored four goals and tacked on two assists. 

Freshmen Marcus Haynie and Cal Stearns each recorded a hat trick in the loss. Stearns added an assist as well for the Brits. 

The Britons held a slim 9-8 lead at halftime, but the Blue Jays battled to outscore the Brits 8-4 in the third.

Jack Gogonis made 13 saves for Albion.

The Brits will be off until Mar. 19 when they host Kenyon College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
