Women's tennis cruises to win over Grace Christian

The Brits ended a six match losing slide with Saturday's win.

ALBION – Snapping a six match losing skid, the Albion College women's tennis team picked up a dominant 8-1 victory over Grace Christian.

Earning their second win as a doubles team, Rosy Zuun and Jesse Hepner earned an 8-5 win at first doubles. With a tough 8-6 victory at second doubles, the solid duo of Savannah McDonald and Josie Dunn improved to 5-7 overall as a team.

Rounding out doubles play with an 8-3 win was the team of Lilianna Robinson and Alura Reed.

Dunn, a sophomore, rolled to an easy 6-0, 6-0 sweep at second singles. At third singles, Hepner rallied back to claim a 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 win.

Reed went on to continue the wins at fourth singles. The junior captain picked up a win by scores of 6-0, 6-2. At fifth singles, co-captain McDonald earned her team-leading fifth win in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Robinson wrapped up the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win.

Next Saturday, the Britons will resume MIAA action with a home match against Trine. The women's match is set for 11 a.m. with the men's to follow at 2 p.m.
