Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Puzevic's seven points not enough in loss

ALBION, Mich. – A back and forth contest against their toughest opponent to this point, the Albion College men's lacrosse team fell to The College of Wooster, 17-15. The Brits received a seven point effort from Sam Puzevic.

Through one period, the teams were deadlocked at two, but the Fighting Scots held a slim 8-6 lead at the half, but Albion was ready to fire back in the third.

After Wooster took a 12-8 lead, the Brits rallied to tie the game at 12. Brock Yabs, Brendan Mercier, Puzevic and Ethan Rottell all scored in the Albion run.

In the fourth, Wooster erased a tight 14-13 deficit and went on to hold a 17-14 advantage. Albion got a final goal from Jace Conley, but could not close the gap any more.

Wooster held a significant advantage in shots, 64-41. Wooster was also dynamite from the X, winning 29 of 36 face offs.

Puzevic led Albion with five goals and two assists. Mercier added a pair of goals and dished out three assists off the bench. Yabs, a junior, recorded a hat trick in the game.

Logan Bonner caused four turnovers.

Albion will be back on its home turf on Saturday afternoon when they host another solid opponent in Elmhurst. Face off is set for 1 p.m.
