Hope downs women's lacrosse

HOLLAND, Mich. – Despite being locked at three after one quarter, the Albion College women's lacrosse team fell to Hope College, 16-7. The Flying Dutch used six goal periods in the second and third quarters to break the game open.

After one, the teams were knotted at three thanks to a pair of goals from Addie Pastor and one from sophomore Aaliyah Eudabe. Eudabe's man-up goal was assisted by Hayla-Lyn Gilly.

Hope outscored the visitors, 6-0, in the second, holding a 9-3 lead at halftime. The hosts then went on to outscore the Britons 6-2 in the third quarter, taking a 15-5 lead into the final 15 minutes. Pastor tacked on her third of the day, as Kyndall Lewis netted the second Albion goal in the period.

In the fourth, Albion received goals from Olivia Dameron and another from Eudabe.

Hope held the advantage in shots, draw controls and ground balls. Albion was just 1 for 6 on free position shots.

Angelina Mendieta caused a team-high four turnovers, while freshman Ellen Chown caused a career-best three.
