Manchester knocks off men's soccer

ALBION – It was a tough night all-around for the Albion College men's soccer team, dropping a 5-0 decision to Manchester University. 

Manchester got on the board in the eighth minute and never looked back. After converting on a free kick, the Spartans tacked on three more goals before the half. MU's final goal came in the 73rd minute off a rebound. 

Manchester's Cory Mitchell netted all five goals for the visitors. 

The Britons were narrowly outshot, 17-14, but could not record many on goal. Albion's best chance came with under six minutes to play, when Karl Hunt's header nicked the crossbar. 

Dario Vujic (2-2-0) made three saves in net for the Brits. Jake Ellsworth recorded one in 12 minutes of work. 

Albion is back on its home pitch Sunday when The College of Wooster comes to town. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
