Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer bounces back with win

Brett Swaton and Alex Carre-Font scored in the win.

ALBION – A pair of first half goals lifted the Albion College men's soccer team past The College of Wooster, 2-0. The win was a great response following a disappointing loss Friday night.

Just seven minutes into the game, Karl Hunt played a beautiful ball ahead to Brett Swaton. Swaton took two touches before recording his team-leading fifth goal of the season, pushing Albion ahead 1-0.

In the 16th minute, the Britons drew a foul just outside the box, setting up a free kick. Alex Carre-Font's shot ricocheted off the arm of a Wooster defender inside the box, awarding the Britons a penalty kick. Carre-Font took the PK and drilled the ball to the right of the outstretched keeper for a 2-0 advantage.

Albion hung tough for the remainder of the match. The Fighting Scots had opportunities – a majority coming in the second half – but their shots fell wide and two hit iron.

Freshman goalkeeper Daric Vujic tallied 11 saves in net for his second clean sheet on the year.

The Britons improve to 3-2-0 overall. On Wednesday, the Brits will take on Grace Christian. The home match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
