Men's Golf

Men's golf ties for 7th at Lou Collins Memorial

Ryan Knitter completed the weekend with a 153 over 36 holes.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – With a six stroke jump, the Albion College men's golf team wrapped up its weekend at the Lou Collins Memorial Classic, tying for seventh overall. As a team, Albion shot a 313-307–620 to move up one spot from Friday. 

Ryan Knitter led the Britons with a Saturday score of 74. The sophomore had the best mark of the weekend, shooting a 79-74–153. Camden Paul finished the weekend with a 154, after Friday's 72 was followed by an 82 on Saturday. 

Senior Brendan Iatrow saw an eight strike improvement from Friday, scoring a 75 on the day. For the tournament Iatrow shot an 83-75–158. 

Blake Wagner also saw a big jump from Friday to Saturday, shooting a 76 in his second round (83-76–159). Freshman Aiden Wurm was the final Briton in the lineup, tallying a 79-87–167.

All three individuals saw improvements from Friday's round, as Vaughn Rogers's 80 led the way. Rogers's 84-80-164 was joined by a weekend of 84-81–165 from junior Dom Orlando. Zach Kapuga (88-86–174) completed the roster for the tournament. 

Albion is back in action on Tuesday morning at the Lourdes Invitational. Tee time is set for 9 a.m.
